Evesham Laptop
Had to move a few things to get to the Falcon, one of which is my
laptop. This did use to be the most powerful computer that I never
ever used until I got the Win10 machine. Now that has the honour
of being the most powerful redundant machine that I have.
This laptop was given to me by the practice so they didn't feel so
bad about me working from home. Still has AutoCAD on the machine
plus Office and the like, though I never use them. Mostly the
machine gets called into action to check the hub when the wires
go down and I log on with the wireless. Or I use the computer to
do some file conversion.
It has a beautiful wide screen and is great for watching DVDs.
I always think of Sheldon Cooper when I reflect on using the
laptop. I have never treated the laptop as a proper computer. The
whole thing is just too annoying for me , what with the crappy way
the keyboard is set up from the bottom. I just have to use a
normal mouse. By the time I have the thing set up I may as well
have switched on my proper computer... which is what I do.
Anywhooo... this thing is getting pretty old now. Probably over
12 years old now so getting kinda retro... or not. Dunno. The
maker was a company I persuaded the practice to use and that was
Evesham. Was trying to maintain the old Amiga ties to a company
that had been very loyal to the platform.
The laptop is and always will be a pretty dumb bit of kit to me.
I really do hate laptops. Only thing worse is a tablet or a
mobile telephone thingy bob... never really caught on for me.
Always happy when I have the thing back in its bag. Saying that
I did watch a bit of Big Bang. What a hoot.

Not related but kind interesting, maybe.
Read this week that the UK may ban the
sale of cotton-buds and straws. Whilst
I rarely ever use a straw I do use the
little cotton bud to clean keyboards and
motherboards. So I guess I will stock up
on the things.... just in case.
