ScuzzBlog: Diaries January 2020

Entry 3rd January 2019: Post 01: Utopia - Gremlin 91.

Utopia - Gremlin 91.

I have kinda done this subject to death over the last month so if
you want to read more about the work of Graeme Ing then pop back
to December and flick through the blogs on K240. So why this blog?
The search for Utopia started with me salvaging some old copies
of disks that I obtained. I played the game and thoroughly enjoyed
it and was kinda puzzled why I had never played it before. Seems
I didn't have the box, the guide or the original disks. ' To the
scuzz cave '.

I have been searching for a reasonably priced version as the game
seems to be quite rare and expensive. So pleased was I over the
festive holiday to snap up a box and instruction manual which
arrived this week. I do love the artwork for the box and the game
itself is quite obscure and fascinating.

Next stop are the original disks which may take a while to obtain
but I will keep watching. I'm in no rush. Interestingly I do have
the original disk 2 so I'm already half way there.

Dunno why this game reminds me of Genesia. Guess its the way the
game map is shown in an isometric 3D model. Love that. Interestingly
my box is not the same as shown on the library images for the game
which may mean that they either revised it or made a budget version.
My box is dated 1991 and not 1992 as in the box scan.

So there you go... Utopia by Gremlin from 1991.

Utopia - Gremlin 91.

Utopia by Gremlin - 1992?
