Entry 10th July 2018: Post 02: Imagine FX

Imagine FX - Firing the imagination

I have always had a very active imagination. I see this as a blessing
and not a curse, though it has distracted me to destruction at times
as I spent way too much time venturing through the worlds of other
creators. I could never resist the printed works of artists that
joy in fantasy, sci-fi and particularly digital work. Photoshop for
me has been a natural progression from my early years with DPaint.
I am not taken to applauding PC software to any great extreme but
I have to say Photoshop with its many layers has been the greatest
of applications of any on a computer for me. In 1998 I bit the
bullet and spent £500 if I recall buying Photoshop 5.5 and I still
use it today.

As for publications I could never resist 3D World and ImagineFX. The
latter here , ImagineFX, was always on my shopping list each month
and couldn't wait to get home and thumb through the rich vein
of fantasy images adorning the glossy pages. The great thing about
magazines for me is that I never get tired of thumbing though the
pages and letting my mind drift off into the fantasy world rendered
to very colourfully inside.

And so I give you a sprinkling of the many worlds of very talented
artists that have shown their pictures within ImagineFX. I am not
sure if the magazine still produces a monthly edition, but if you
ever get the opportunity to buy one of these wonderful publications
then I would certainly suggest you do so.

And so to quote Khan ... 'I have chased you round the moons of Nibia
and round the Antares maelstrom and round perdition’s flames!'

... there are no limits to the power of the imagination.
