Jack Problems 2
Paul
You got me.. I not only don't know what an oscilloscope does but also
haven't ever used my multimeter and in truth its only a play thing. Even
if I found out which bit wasn't working I wouldn't be able to do
anything about it. Analog or digital it'll amount to the same thing. I
just like needles in instruments they kinda make for more pleasant an
experience. Reminds me of the VUs on my old SONY reel to reel. Bit like
a heartbeat... Maybe your oscilloscope could check for heartbeats. Mebeee !!
I still own my SONY reel-to-reel just like this one. I have to go get it
from my sisters though. Whenever I think of my tape recorder I reflect
on Boomtown Rats, Roxy Music etc

You should have heard Trash on the reel by Roxy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAlnLgcyTrY
or Boomtown Rats - Don't Like Mondays

or

Christopher Cross - Sailing
or

Steve Winwood - While You See a Chance
or

or Richie Havens - What's Going On
Good times. I can remember nearly every track on the reel. That and
Hitchhikers Guide and Faulty Towers. Interesting that Paul Gambaccini
and Annie Nightingale had a lot of influence over my musical tastes in
those days. Memories of the VU needle and the way the meter glowed in
the dimming light as I struggled to complete college projects through
the night.
