I used my Windows 10 computer for less than a day before I realised I
had made a massive mistake. There is something about basic computing
that must involve getting your hands dirty. Windows 10 is like food
without taste. It feeds you but your left without any sense of
achievement or sustenance. I just felt my part in the process was
irrelevant. It was like I actually didn't need to do anything and so the
old double negative applies and you finish up with the processes
cancelling each other out.

Windows 7 will be the last OS they actually made that involved user
interaction. Win10 feels like what I assume its like using a mobile
phone or one of them Apple tablet things. [ not a fan of Apple ]. I
actually think its cus of Apple that MS mucked up everything. They kinda
thought they needed to change but haven't got the unique skill base to
make it work. In the end they realised they needed that START button and
the menu system and a desktop.

In truth Windows is and always will be a disk operating system. A
glorified file retrieval system with a very crude system for storing
files. Its like opening a door into the large hanger at the end of
Raiders the way Windows store its registry . Kinda all randomly stacked
in a totally incohesive way , but it works, and in the end you don't
need to go in there. We just pile one thing on top of another rather
than be selective and tidy. So funny.

I tried Linux... I just am not clever enough. I couldn't get the thing
to read the CD and drives etc and by that time I gave up. I have tried
several times but fail every time. Windows 7 is where it ends for me
unless someone comes up with an actual Amiga OS that works simply with
modern kit. Trouble is things have moved on so much, nothing Amiga do
will ever be mainstream again. Sad really.
