Amiga 1060 Sidecar
Update
Chicken and egg. So frustrating. I struggle with both the Amiga 1060 and
Atari 1050 for the same reason. I need a 5.25" disk. An actual, honest
to goodness 5.25" disk with DOS on. And not any old disk but the actual
disk or copy of that was made for the sidecar or floppy drive. It is no
use getting an image for the disk as I have no way of creating an actual
disk that either unit will read. I have been searching every day on Ebay
and even emailed a seller today asking if he had another copy of a disk
given that the collection he was selling had the disk. I cannot justify
buying a whole Atari setup just for a disk.
The pass through floppy drive on the does not work sadly. I tried. Also
I had no luck getting the bridgeboard to work. I'll get there eventually.
Anyway I am communicating with this guy about the sidecar and this is
what I wrote.
Hi
No. The beep occurs when the special Workbench disk tries to access the
drive. It also then beeps again when it tries to find the disk. The
sidecar is quiet without the software running on the Amiga.
The problem is that I cannot create the disk for the sidecar. The disk
is a 5.25" disk and I have no way of making an image of a 5.25" disk
without the drive working. And I cannot make the drive work without the
disk. What I need is an actual disk, preferably the one that came with
the 1060 or a copy of the 5.25" disk. I do not have a PC with a working
5.25" drive sadly.
Those disks on the link you gave are the ones from the Amiga Resource
site for creating the modified Workbench disk which I have. Like I say
what I need is a 5.25" disk as provided with the 1060. What I need are
these ....
