A4000d in 1993
Hi
Just found a receipt in an envelope with a pile of books and
its for an Amiga 4000-030 [ which I own ] dated 6th August 1993.
Which is about the same time I paid just over £500 for my Amiga
1200. Anyway for the following the total sum was £1199. Amiga
4000-030 4mb RAM plus 214mb hard drive, Amiga A4000 keyboard.
Photon Paint II, GFA BASIC 3.5, Amiga Vision and 1 year next
working day on site contract. All from Silica Systems in Kent.
I did buy quite a bit from Silica Systems in my day. They opened
a shop in Southampton for a short while.
This was literally the last throw of the dice for Commodore.
Just after I bought my 1200 in November that same year they went
bust. I had paid £50 deposit for a monitor which I never received.
Got my money back but took an age to get a monitor. Such an odd
time to be honest.
