Spectrum belt
Hi
Opened up the 6128 which was a little more tricky to get to the pulley
wheel. Found that the belt had broken and stuck solid to the bottom small
wheel. I removed and cleaned up as best I could but I do not have any
cleaning fluid just an additional belt. I rebuilt and fired but no joy.
Stripped back and checked over but still no luck. I moved a drive from
another busted 6128 but that didn't work either. I have bought a couple of
kits off Ebay with the cleaning fluid and the belts and will have another go
when they arrive. It is very difficult lifting the interface plate away
sufficiently to get at the pulley wheels. I watched a video where the guy
desoldered two connectors so he could remove fully but that is just beyond
me sadly.
I kinda did something last night which I know I shouldn't have but I just
couldn't resist. I am not going to say any more until I am sure it was worth
my while. I really do not want to jinx things. Fingers crossed.
This is a video of a guy removing the drive. Kinda slow video to be honest.
Not sure if anyone has ever watched the Fats Show clip where they are
dismantling a bomb and one guy gets bored and just cuts all the wires with a
pair of shear and say ' Anyone want a pint ' and thats how I felt with this
guy. I just kept saying ' Get on with it '. Otherwise quite informative.
