Cost of stuff - Post 2
Mick
Ebay has become like the AH in Warcraft or Archeage. The price of produce is
fixed at a rate and everyone else follows with that value. In Archeage when
you place something on the AH it even fixes it at the most common price.
The junk aspect of Ebay appears to have vanished. Everyone has to be a
respected seller I guess and fear the dreaded negative feedback. I use to
like buying junk with no strings attached and then joy at seeing if what I
got worked. I would buy any old A500 for a fiver in the hope of finding a
hidden card inside. Now they are all cleaned up and sold for a small
fortune. I would very often spend an evening searching through SCSI stuff
and find a mass of those external boxes going dirt cheap. All of them now
are photographed perfectly and clearly identified as working and cost around
£30. Way too much. If I wanted to buy stuff at that value I would anticipate
it to be new. What's the fun in that.
When you say Wargamer, I assume you mean Games Workshop style figures of
old. Man did I love the Games Workshop.
Anyway I bought a load of junk the other night for £25 with no guarantee of
working. If it does work you will all be the first to know.
