Atari 1050 - Post 2
Hi
So continuing on my trek to investigate the 5.25” drives I dug
out my Atari 1050. This thing has an external brick and when
you add the Atari brick you kinda keep stubbing your toe no matter
where you put your feet. Next up the dreaded Atari interface
connecting cable. Further digging and found that. Set up an Atari
130XE or something like that. Pretty blue screen. So you switch
on the 1050 and then pop in a disk and then switch on the Atari.
Bleeping and then a menu. Games.. just games.
So how do I save to disk. Sadly unlike the C64 and the Amiga you
can’t do this from BASIC or the command line or Workbench. Nope...
you need a DOS disk. An Atari DOS disk. Well that ended that little
adventure. I could hunt one down but the drive light works and I
got a nice blue screen and the game disk seemed to work. Thats good
enough for me. It is an Atari after all.
