I have done something very bad
Hi Paul
The thing I bought is an Amiga 600 cf hdd 4gb with 2.1 Pre install
License + demos + whdload. I haven't got clue how it works. Cost £22
which hasn't burnt too big a hole into my pocket. When I consider I have
paid £500 for 550mb 2.5" back in the days when I couldn't scrape two
pennies together its what a friend use to call ' cheap as chips '.
Sadly I struggle with anything that isn't the real deal. I know that
these things are designed to give you the fun of the older kit, but for
me its about the whole deal. And sadly, as I am a nutter , I just go '
nah when I get to punching the button to buy one. I have a C64 emulator
on the Amiga 4000 and from the screen you just cannot tell that you are
not running a C64. But I can tell. It's what I term food without taste.
Gives the same nourishment but has no taste. I have Manic Miner on the
Acorn and it runs without fault. But there is the problem. It has to be
on a Spectrum.
I guess in the end I'd rather struggle to get all the working bits to
keep the Spectrum alive. But then I enjoy more the Spectrum+3 with the
3" drive for Sinclair fun. That's about as advanced as it gets for me.
Dunno. I'm probably not the one to ask about such things.
