Postal Annoyance

Hi.. Have to try and be quick.. Late.

Given the climatic change and the warmth in the room I ducked out from
website duties and decided to check out the last of my big box machines.

First up was the A3000 desktop that I bought from Germany. The boot
screen loaded and I could kick 2.x or 1.3 so I just went straight into
the 2.x .... 40.68 and 40.42 respectively . Four drives on the machine
and worked straight out of the tin. Just perfect, but that's a 3000 for you.

Next up it was the turn of Colin's A3000 AmaxII. Has an interlace
screen, and just didn't fit on the 1080. Loads wb2.x with five drives.
7.5 and 2mb memory 68030, 68822 FPU and 68030 (In Use) Cowanbunga

So two A3000s working no problem. The second of these machines had the
floppy drive in the middle. The first had it on the right. Sitting above
the two machines is a motherboard for my Unix machine. A future project.

Next up an Amiga 4000d that I bought from Germany . The display wouldn't
work on the 1080 [ just a monitor issue ] so I had to boot off a floppy.
Straight in 2mb + 4mb memory 4 volumes, 68030, 68882 Cowanbunga. No
problem and working no problem.

Last 4000d is a machine I travelled to Bristol to pick up. 2mb + 2mb
memory 68040 + 68882 MPU 68040 in use
Motorollin.... An actual A4000/040 machine. DH0 and DH1. 3 x Zorro II.
There is a PicassoII on the computer and a cute case fan that is mounted
in one of the card slots. Love this computer. Treasured possession...
sadly never used. As ever I promised the owner I would look after the
computer and feature on the website.

I never doubted these computers would work. They are a credit to the
Commodore name. The best little mountain of machines that I have.
Sitting above is a beautifully stored mint A1000 box that I keep out to
remind me of the glory of Commodore artwork.

So a good afternoon in Amiga Land. What a great place to be.

Better go to bed.
