Hi
I so wish I could verify that the floppy drive unit on the BBC Master is
working. I get the power on and floppy drive light but no recognition
from the computer. It would be a real joy to know that its working.
Anyway I asked another question on the BBC forum and this was the reply
followed by my response having done what was asked...
[Advice first]
If you type *CO. FILE 9, followed by - followed by *CAT (or
*.) you'll be able to catalogue BBC discs.
[My response]
Well I never !!!!! Well done Whooo Hooooooooooooooo !!!!
I get..
DD.DOS UTILS(03)FM
Drive 0 Option o(off)
Dir. :0.$ Lib. :0.$
FORMAT VERIFY
*
As soon as I put the disk in I got the notification that this was not a
language but I got the prompt so I could *cat
That's the first time I've been able to read a disk. I so wanted to know
that the floppy drive unit was working. Its one of those double disk
drives that the Cub sits on by User Friendly.
[ End response ]
So the drive is working.
The drive looks a bit like the one on this site .....
