That was funny... I had forgotten that my Commodore 1351 mouse had a
copy of GEOS inside for the C64C

You have to hold down the right mouse button on boot. I got strange
inputs of the number 2. Happened on three computers. I just deleted them
and loaded GEOS from the disk in the box. Interestingly you still need
to have a valid version of GEOS 1.3 or higher to allow you to access the
software. You can see they were happy for Commodore to use the software
but they also wanted everyone to buy GEOS.
The mouse is so slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow. But works. I guess I
could calibrate it. Sadly the icon for backing up GEOS is not to be seen
anywhere. The book clearly shows this icon for backing up your disks
and encourages you to do so. But it aint anywhere to be seen. Maybe they
clocked that users could simply flog on the copies. Dunno.
Strange using what feels like an old Amiga mouse on a C64. Just doesn't
feel right.
GEOS is magic. I do enjoy mucking around with GEOS. Great little tool. I
have like a massive box of collected stuff associated with GEOS
including all the various flavours of disk OSs for the floppy drives on
ROM chips. Even GEOS on ROM.
Good fun. All packed away now. Onwards.
