Winboxes definitely not retro
Hi
Given that I was sitting waiting for a delivery I decided foolishly to
try and get an old 5.25" drive working on a Zenith Systems machine.
Anyway first up and the monitor connector had so many bent and twisted
pins. Looks like someone had tried to connect to the wrong monitor.
Anyway a little work and they were all straight and good as new. Next I
booted and got the old CMOS error and press escape key. You may find it
odd but with more keyboards here than Ebay sell in a month I couldn't
put my hands on a keyboard with the very old end connector. Bummer.

Anyway not to give up I then dug out another old computer with a
suitable connector and plugged in. Went into the BIOS and activated the
Floppy B 360 and booted into Windows. No Floppy B even though the floppy
flashed and flickered on boot. Just nah !
So I went onto Google. Not sure if any of you have Googled for anything
of late, but all you find are lists and lists and lists of folk selling
old retro gear but none with details. I found a lot of sites talking
about the Zenith ZA-180-54 but none with a manual and maybe some guide
as to how to get it working. I have the cable, the machine, the power
supply etc.
All I am trying to do is copy the contents of a file to 5.25" so I can
run on the 1060. I've given up hope of ever finding one for sale on Ebay.
And so I gave up. And now I'll try something else. Thankfully my PSU
arrived and it rained.. so there was at least some good news today.
