More quiet than expected
Hi
Just an update. I do get a bit frustrated with HP cus they insist on
taking up drive letter D for their recovery disk. I used D a lot for
linked pages to USB data so I decided to change the letter and run the
risk of the recovery never working. Since then on boot I get the
computer trying to use a network connection to boot from. .. Client Mac
Addr 001E OB... DHCP .... etc. If I do a Ctrl-Alt-Del it stops the
process and goes straight into XP. I have gone into the BIOS Setup and
checked that the Boot first option is the Seagate... Doesn't seem to
matter. When I restart the computer always goes into XP. However if I
switch off completely and let the water run out the trap then the
machine opts to try a network boot option.
Annoying... Could also mean the drive is furked. I did a check disk and
that didn't find anything. Means nothing really. I am guessing the boot
sector is dodgy. Really don't know.
