Bit of a dust up
Hi Dave
Under the PSU there is what looks like a miniature screwdriver sticking
out the side of a chip which looks blue but I could be wrong. There
appears to be a wire from this connected to a riser board on the
motherboard. Difficult to see. The floppy ribbon was resting on it so I
detached the floppy from the motherboard and realigned the cable. I am
not sure there is much I can do to be honest. Even if I took the PSU out
I'd be hard pushed to solve the problem. I checked the cable was
connected and blew out the dust as best I could and restarted. As ever
she starts without fault. I then ran an animation that I created and
when I came back from tea [ 30 minutes or so ] the animation had locked
up. I restarted but wouldn't kick so I reseated the GVP and that threw
up a red guru left click job. Reseated again and started and came
straight back into the OS. Fired up my animation which is still running now.
There really isn't much up other than the computers age I guess. It is
something I experience a lot with 2000s for some reason. Last year the
A2000HD fell over with a similar issue. I think it may be time to rest
the computer. Sometimes for the best. She was working when I last
switched on and I can feel comfortable. Worst would be a total failure
and then I just get very down.
Thanks for the reply, I haven't given up yet.
