Hot today

Hi

As I lay awake last night unable to sleep because of the heavy
thunderstorm rumbling across the sky I just couldn't get my thoughts off
where I had put my set of Amiga Computing magazines. This all started
with that bloody picture of Elvira that was haunting me. I kept cycling
through all the various locations I store magazines but none had thus
far uncovered what was in truth a two foot high stack of magazines.

Anyway I decided to dig into the bottom of a shelf unit and unbelievably
I discovered a stash of old Windows 3.1 gear including a Quick Drive
external that appears to run off an LPT port. There is an external 5.25"
floppy drive. Loads of old disks and copies of DOS etc. This came with
the Checkmate. Next to the stash was another Amstrad colour monitor
which I quickly plugged in and played Sorcery Plus. I was moving boxes
around and the Amstrad stopped working. Just died. Anyway as I toiled I
managed to knock a Philips monitor clean off its shelf sitting above a
500. It bounced once off the A500 and then landed smack on its screen on
the floor.

I nearly wept.. I lifted the poor thing to the shelf and hooked her back
in and switched on. Worked no problem, as did the A500. Made from
stronger stuff I guess. So funny.

I reflected on a batch of disks with thousands of Windows icons on them
that I hadn't seen before. Funny how last year this guy feigned
friendship with me so that I would send him disks and when he had got
them he never mailed again, not even to say thank you. He would have
loved this little collection. Well tough... You can't has my stuff. I
cannot find anything on the internet about this Quick Drive. I'm sure
its LPT bound. Inside looks like an old MTec drive for the 500.

Anyway I was just about to give up on my search for my mags and then I
noticed a box to the rear of my A1200. I pushed my finger into the top
and whoo hoo.. shiny magazine feeling. Opened and there they were 1988
through to 1991 which is what I was missing. And so with the A500/GVP
clicking and whirring away I sat in the pleasant afternoon sun
marvelling at Elviras rather ample chest... erm.. er not really..
Sorry..... Obviously checking this newfangled external drive for the
A500 featured on the cover.

What was funny now I reflect on it, is that the box was just four feet
away from where I lay pondering their whereabouts last night. I often
say when I can't find something its probably staring me straight in the
face.

So what next. Not much I must get some sleep tonight. Thank goodness I
was able to lay my hands on Elvira in the end. That woman is pure evil.
