For ever losing stuff
Hi
Neither the A3010 or A3000 booted into the OS. Well that's not true, the
A3000 did until I plugged in the mouse and now I get an error. I know
the battery is next to the mouse port on the Acorn 3000. The A3010 just
fires up Supervisor. I have opened up the A3010 and can see that the
battery is badly leaking. Trouble is these folk that made these machines
always have one screw they tighten and take the screw head off. I sense
its a repair place that does it so you have to keep going back to them.
Was the same with all the Amstrads and last night the BBC also had a
real struggle with one of the screws. This one on the A3010 I just
cannot remove, the head has completely gone. So I have bought one of
those screw removers from Ebay and see how I get on. Sad when you think
there is a battery leaking and I can't get to it.
Both the BBCs work. Remember the one that was smoking. I left it for
quite a while last night and was playing around in BASIC and no nasty
smells and working a charm, no issues at all. The Master Series troubles
me as I cannot get any communication in truth with the floppy drive. It
does a scan of the drive but wont let me format anything like it says in
the book.
More on that no doubt.
