Balance of Power - Me I'm just a lawnmower
I do wish my grass wouldn't grow so much... So annoying. Kinda
keeps me busy, along with the perpetual weeding this time of year.
Suffice to say the pleasures of the garden prevented me mucking
around with the computers today, but hey, still managed to squeeze
in a little Balance of Power.
I do have the earlier version for the game but for some reason
it struggles on the Amiga 1000 through lack of memory and just
won't work on the later machines. And so I drag out Amiga Format
from June 1991 for both the very very informative guide and the
very splendid cover disk.
If you haven't ever played Balance of Power... then 'WHY ?'
One of those god like games that allows you to tinker with
world domination by taking on the USSR, of its day, by intervening
in world politics by either persuasive, financial or military
interventions. The game is basically a map showing hot spots and
with your advisors you get to challenge the USSR for world
domination. A simple yet quite complex game. Also very addictive.
I was using the A500 with A590 sidecar and so had a general play.
Followed up with a bit of Mean 18, probably the best golf game
like ever and then a bit more Defender of the Crown. I have added
Balance of Power to my box of goodies to play on the 500. So
easy to load and gives you the opportunity to save your game. I
managed to avoid Dragon Tiles today.... Or not.

I always keep my Clara Veiga Vault disk
on the system to record files so I can
transfer useful files to the repository
Its either the CVinK or 3n21 on the screen
whenever I power up the Amigas. Just SAYing...
er... that's actually the SAY prog that got
junked from the later Amigas. I still have
it on the later models, just have to set it up
All three of those games ran from the Workbench
