Entry 21st August 2019: Post 01: Colour of a busted Amiga capacitor.

Colour of a busted Amiga capacitor.

OK so I was checking over my records for the Amiga with the very
subtle yellow tint and discovered that in Jan 2018 she displayed
none of the colour issues. I decided to set up the Samsung flat
screen to check and compare images from three Amiga 1200s plus
the historical pictures from Jan 2018, it is obvious something
has gone very wrong.

For me I am guessing it is one of the components shown in the
area on the two pics and most likely that yellow small brick which
is affecting the adjacent video chip. [ technical stuff that ].
Sorry I can't be more specific but I have seen similar issues
in the past, though not on my Amiga 1200s.

If you study the palette on the three A1200 screen shots you will
see that their is a beige / yellow tint to the colour slider in
the first pics when at colour range 170 there shouldn't. You can
check that from the other images. The Amiga is not displaying
the correct colour for grey. It is showing a yellow tint.

Nothing to do but to throw the thing away... or not. Probably not.
Never mind, maybe in time someone else will fix her. Poor thing.

Colour of a busted Amiga capacitor.

Busted Amiga with faulty display.

Note the hint of yellow/brown on the slider.

Healthy Amiga slider.

Another healthy display.

It is the yellow thing that is at fault.
Usually trad capacitor on some Amiga 1200s.

Image from Jan 18 showing no issues.
