My goodness just when you thought you knew each and every BASIC application for the Amiga up pops another. I was going through my list of well known BASIC compilers etc and amongst them was this strange name .. ACE BASIC 2.4. At first I thought it was something I had invented to describe some Blitz program, but no, this actually exists. The software has a specially created version just for Amiga Format and was released with the Dec 96 issue of that magazine. You can still download the disk in ADF format from EAB Magazine Rack. Link to EAB Magazine Rack CoverDisk 91 The version runs on everything from WB 1.3 up though it's best with WB2.0+ cus you can use the GUI AIDE which makes life a lot easier. You would really need a working understanding of BASIC though that shouldn't be much of a challenge. The AFCD No7 has way more documents on it so well worth getting the CD. It is very important to follow the installation notes to make sure you have set up the ASSIGNS and also have all the correct tools installed. So a big thanks to David Benn for giving us this little gem and for not being the front man for the band Ace of Base. I couldn't resist ....
