Amiga User International - Magazine Frenzy.
Not just a disk but a 'SUPERDISK'. That was the boast of Amiga
User International, or just AUI. They certainly knew how to cram
loads of stuff onto their disks. Whilst I have a healthy collection
of AUI I have to say it was never my most favoured magazine. Simply
cus of the lack of strong titles and games on the disks. The mag
always looked a bit busy and ever so slightly muddled.
Saying all that the articles are still today very entertaining
and the content rich and varied. My main interest in collecting
further editions of the magazine was the availability of a rich
vein complete with cover disks. Something I could not resist. I
do have every cover disk but still having the magazine with the
disk with the covers intact was a real find.
So I nabbed a few... The guy selling these managed somehow to do
a one day turn around from purchase to delivery. He was very
careful at how he packaged the magazines and disks. Unlike many
of my copies the removal of the disks from the cover had not
damaged the artwork. So many of mine have the covers ripped.
This process actually started with a copy of March 89 of AUI. I
had so much wanted this magazine cus of the reviews of Teenage
Queen and Purple Saturn Sun. Bit late now as I did those blogs
many moons ago. But having the originals was a great boost to
the collection.
The first three of quite a few AUIs to find their way here are
March 93, Sept 93 and Dec 93.. Superdisks 21,26 and 29. I have
included a random set of images for you to view. My main boast
today was the adding of these magazines and tomorrow I will
feature quite a few more. I have been busy. This month has been
a real 'magazine frenzy'. Trust me you can never have too many
Amiga magazines.
