Entry 3rd June 2018: Post: 1: Acorn Army

My Acorn Army - A3010 and A3020 reporting for duty: Phase I

Up to my usual retro activities of checking over the kit and I was
well aware that I left a battery lurking in amongst the Acorn
Archimedes 'bARMy ARMy' that sits here dormant. And so I set too
going on a reconnaissance mission to seek out the enemy and take it out.

Attention !!!

Acorn Archimedes A3020 as made by Acorn Computers in the UK 1992
Uses BBC BASIC plus the RISC OS3.1 OS
Has a full stroke keyboard
The CPU is an ARM 250 32 bit RISC running at 12 MHz
RAM is 2 MB up to 4 MB and ROM is 1 MB

The computer pays respect to the BBC by having the red function keys.

Fortunately this computer had the battery removed by me last year.

The battery did use to sit to the
side of that hard drive. The drive
spins up but doesn't boot. Pretty
common with 2.5" drives of the period

No battery issues and good to go
