ScuzzBlog: Diaries May 2018 Entry 16th May 2018: Post: 2 Amiga 2000 - COMPUTER DO NOT SWITCH OFF. ..... This Amiga 2000 does make me giggle. The owner admitted when they sold it that they were using it only as a door stop. Hopefully switched off finally. I have to be honest I have rarely switched this computer on. On the plus side she has probably spent most of the last twenty years standing on her side which really does help the hard drives on the SeriesII cus it means the drive is laying actually flat. I had taken the battery off the main machine and Bridgeboard so there was no risk of damage. The computer fired up no problem and in truth works pretty remarkably given its age. The serial number is in the 8000s so not one of the later ones... I think. What was so important that needed the computer to remain on all the time I do not know. Reflecting on matters it probably has spent way more time switched off... as she is now. Sad really. The Amiga 2000
