ScuzzBlog: Diaries August 2018

Entry 11th August 2018: Post 02: Amiga 1200 - Picking the bones

Amiga 1200 - Picking the bones
It's what I do.... Just saying. These blogs are a true record of
my daily fun and games mucking around with my retro gear. They
are not structured around any specific activity. So in truth the
days just tend to reveal themselves to me in a slightly haphazard
way and I simply record what I do. Anyway .....

Not something I like doing to a broken Amiga but I decided to take
a look at that 3.5" hard drive from the broken A4000d featured in
the previous post. For this I used an Amiga Technologies 3.1 ROM
machine from the Escom era which once sat within an Amiga tower.

Salvaged 3.5" hard drive

Amiga 1200 at the ready.

The salvaged 3.5" drive from the 4000d.

Booting immediately flags up a CDFS
error with a missing atapi.device.
No CD-ROM drive.

And no Picasso graphics card.

Not going anywhere with those so just cancel.

Interestingly 3.1 even though the
BoingBags for 3.9 are there.

Picasso96 software.

This definitely was a back-up drive.

IDEFIX97.

And Opus5.

I do have the registration.

The drive was pretty empty so I just
placed it into store for recycling.

While I was at it I decided to try
out this Apollo 060 that is busted.

Came with a computer that was broken.

Sadly no joy. I wasn't anticipating
any life. Been bust since day one.

I fixed the computer though and I do have
other working Apollo 060s.
