Not really retro - iPAQ hw6910

Not really retro but given that I need to source a new Mini SD
for this I thought I would add a few pics as it is what I was
also doing today. I guess being computer related it is worth
featuring on the blog.

I was given this hand held in 2006 as a way of enticing me to
keep a mobile phone on my person. Given my love for computers
the practice thought that if they gave me a phone that would
also provide a mini computer I would always be accessible.
Well that didn't work as there was a handy icon on the screen
to switch the phone off.

This little baby sits on my desktop next to my Win7 machine
and uses ActiveSync from a cradle. Has all my valuable stuff
on it like my Tesco favourites list... yummy.

I have long since removed the phone SIM or what ever it is
called from the machine. Very easy to use and a good little
tool to have in an emergency when you need contact details.

The HP iPAQ hw6910 released in February 2006
Runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 2005 Pac
64MB RAM storage and with a miniSD slot
CPU is an Intel PXA 270 416MHz
TFT resistive touchscreen 65K colours
Wi-Fi, Blutooth, GPS, Infrared, USB, Messaging, MMS, Email
Browser is the HTML (PocketE)
Includes Pocket Office, MP3 player, Organizer and voise memo
Removable Li-Ion battery

I also have one of these...

Both use a cradle

Now for a bit of magic

A proper keyboard

That works with your handheld
You see, that's the problem with
a mobile phone. Doesn't have a wide
screen monitor, full keyboard and mouse
that fits handy in your pocket
