Cover Disk Games - A fistfull more.
Decided today to give out another fistful of cover disk images for
you to play with. I literally picked up one disk box of Format and
one disk box of CU and grabbed a random dozen of disks. Interestingly
the one disk had a copy of ExpertDraw on it and not the cover disk
contents. I decided to leave the disk in the set as it represents
the kind of behaviour of Amiga users of the day, making use of any
spare disks for software.
Some of the disks will need de-crunching to other disks but I'm sure
you will know how to do that.
The disks provide only a fragment of the actual games, but give
enough I'm sure to get a flavour of the original games. I'm pretty
confident all of them can be downloaded from the web somewhere.
Anyhoo... that little session took me all day as I first needed to
find the disks, then ADFBlitz them on my Amiga Technologies A1200.
Next up I used a Surf-Squirrel to transfer to an Iomega ZIP drive.
The ZIP was then taken to an old PC with a built in Iomega ZIP
drive, and then finally across the local network to an XP machine
and onto a USB stick before being brought back up here and copied
to this Win7 machine. I placed the files in store, online and on
the Emulator where I checked the disks were working. Sadly the
Shoot'em up Construction Set had a checksum, albeit still booted
but I decided not to risk it.
That's me done for today. Time to play.
Note that there is no Atomino.. only ExpertDraw
