Amiga Game - OMNICRON Conspiracy.
This is the second time in a month that I have been seduced into
buying an Amiga game based on the box artwork. Not unusual. This
time the game is the MS-DOS port of the USA EPYX game the Omnicron
Conspiracy developed by First Star Software in 1989. The manual
still carries all the directions for use on an IBM including the
types of graphics support.
The game is a graphics adventure following the exploits of one
Ace Powers who refers to himself as Mr-Bust-An-Intergalactic-
Drugs-Ring. He is called to his boss and advised that the BlackStar
interplanetary freighter was attacked and found cast adrift. The
crew are not responding and it is for you to investigate.
The game is a walk about clicking on clues. Its quite humorous
at times but not of the quality you would normally expect, especially
for the Amiga. Interesting and entertaining none the less.
There are a number of guides in the magazine sections of the EAB
Magazine Rack, though, not as many as you normally get. I also
found a few YouTube videos of the game if you want to take a look.
The game was ported to the Amiga by Image Works and I see Mirror
Soft were distributing the game.
Short and sweet. I hit a technical problem with the site whilst
doing the blog as the Security Certificate hadn't been updated.
I had purchased it a month or so ago so it was just a case of
getting the hosting company to swap the new for the old. I haven't
checked the ticket but it appears to be working OK. So we are good
to go for another 12 months. I just hope my own certificate holds up.
Unlike other sites I wont be sending out begging requests for gifts
of wheelbarrows full of cash to help support the site. The certificate
was cheap as chips as they say so not a big deal. EUKHost are the
best and always look after me. If you need a company with hands on
help that are reasonably priced then go give them a look.
