Entry 31st January 2020: Post 01: Misguided castle mentality.
Misguided castle mentality.
I am not taken to making political statements but on this day of
all days and as a proud citizen of the world I thought I would.
The 'English', of which I am sadly, have a fear of invasion. It is
engrained within our DNA. And as humble peasants we are use to our
nobles dragging us back over the draw-bridge at times of conflict.
We are protected by our wealthy guardians surrounded by our moat
and safe behind heavy walls. Until such a time as we can be let
back into the fields to put gold in the coffers of our masters.
Nothing has changed in the centuries of 'English' history.
And today the nobles and dignitaries of this land have called its
citizens in behind the wall and lifted the draw-bridge in fear
of a misguided invasion. An invasion of Europeans. And yet inside
the wall we are but a remote island with 'limited' resources, held
hostage by those that claim to have our interests at heart. In the
mean time the vast free world of 'limitless' possibilities, where
we once were able to roam freely and without bounds, is now locked
from our grasp.
My feelings today are of a nation of peasants clustered helpless
behind a large wall in wet, miserable dark surroundings being
hounded by our masters to put food on their table. A bit extreme
you may think but in truth it is about trust and sincerity. Once
that trust is lost then there can be no sincerity. I have little
faith in the real reasoning for today's events, because those with
the wealth of this nation will always do anything to protect their
own interests. It's a human trait, selfishness.
Never before in the history of this island has the misguided
will of the many been used so despicably to protect the interests
of the few.
Anyway, society gets what it deserves, so hey, whatever.
For me I was quite enjoying being a European. Ar hum.
Tea and toast anyone. Don't be a stranger. I'm begging you.
