Entry 26th January 2022: Post 1: Popular Computing - Commodore launch the Amiga.

Popular Computing - Commodore launch the Amiga.

Lucky find this from the same seller. Popular Computing from the
1st-7th August 1985 and 27th February - 5th March 1986. Both are
featuring the launch of the Amiga. The first for the initial
launch in the USA and the second in Europe. This is so interesting
cus there is a distinct lack of numbers involved and so the Amiga
is referred to as just that .. 'The Amiga'.

The Amiga was launched on 23rd July 1885

'EVERY working computer, no matter how humble, is a complex machine
made up of an extraordinary variety of components. What makes a
good computer, however, is not complexity but the quality of the
components and the effectiveness of the design that ties those
components together. On both these counts the Amiga family represents
a major step forward in personal computers, offering a level of power
and performance simply not seen before in a personal computer'.

The great thing about historical editorials is that they reflect a
specific snapshot in time and are not blurred by time and devoid of
any perception or understanding of a world yet to come. This makes
the content liquid gold and is the best way of understanding just
what happened at any point of time. So obtaining not one but two
historical magazines with such an important event discussed, for me
as an Amiga collector, is quite magical.

Hopefully you find the articles of interest. They sure warm my heart
on this the coldest and darkest of days.
