A1200 playing game - I found The Lost Vikings.
Anyway I found those pesky Lost Vikings. I knew I would. If you
recall I was attempting to repair a couple of bogus disks when the
ZIP drive took down my hard drive. With all that sorted I returned
to my quest to recover the disks and thankfully , eventually, I
was able to reinstate both disks to working status.
I am only comfortable featuring these cracked disks cus I bit the
bullet and bought the game. So I do own legal copies of the disks.
The difficult disk had a data file on Disk 2 that refused to play
ball. I have a technique of flexing the disk, tapping it and using
three drives in rotation that I clean and somehow the disks free
themselves and start working. I sense it is the paper liner in the
disk that interferes with the read process.
So I copied both disks and installed to hard drive. The game needs
the second disk to be in an external floppy drive I found. Anyhoo
I knew all was well cus I had listened the failed activity of the
disk and knew when it cleared the last hurdle. Once the disk passes
a blocked section on the disk it rarely repeats the problem.
So both disks work and I was able to play on the Amiga 1200.
To celebrate I fired up my AI Online Art Generator and created a
few celebratory pictures. The AI would only generate images with
four Vikings if I wanted one with a shield. AI is like that. After
all it creates the images from a few simple prompts.
So there we have it I have retrieved the Lost Vikings whilst almost
destroying my hard drive in the process. Happens.
Onward.. That was July done and dusted and it rained tonight so all
can't be bad. Next stop August and further down the rabbit hole.
