Entry 8th June 2026: Post 1: SCALA - Plus Simon the Sorcerer.
SCALA - Plus Simon the Sorcerer.
I realise that yesterday I featured a disk with SCALA on it that
is not available for download and didn't give you any alternative
option in respect of getting the software. Be aware that SCALA
kinda stresses the importance of having a camcorder and video
given that it is a multimedia video titling package.
That said there are versions of the software featured with the
Feb 94 copy of CUAmiga and May 97 copy of Amiga Format. The one
featured in Format does also come on CD13 which has the disks
on the CD plus a whole barrel full of other goodies. So set up
your emulator for CD and obtain disks and bung them in your PC.
OK that was that for SCALA. I actually have the big boxed versions
which I have featured before so check out the index.
As to Simon the Sorcerer this was featured in CU as a demo with
the actual game on nine disks. It's what I call a 'scratch and
sniff' game where on each screen there are a hidden a number of
clues to uncover and you just have to scratch around and sniff
for the clues. Get it. All pretty dull but entertaining to some.
The game was quite popular in the day. I bought it and stuck it
immediately on the shelf. [Yawn].
The game has a piracy check at the start and you will either
need the manual for the page references or a cracked version of
the game.
OK I think I helped a bit there in tracking down the software.
EAB Magazine Rack is your friend I guess or maybe Lemon Amiga.
Sadly I can be of no further help cus I think my toast is done.
Happy days. Cuppa and toast.
