Entry 12th June 2026: Post 1: Amiga Disk Recovery - The Video.

Amiga Disk Recovery - The Video.

Whilst I was salvaging an old defunct Workbench 1.3 disk I decided
to grab my Canon camera and make a crude video of the whole process.
I have to apologize for some of the shots being a little shaky and
at times out of focus, but I only was aware after I had taken the
video. I wasn't able to do it again cus the disk was mended. I am
sure you get the idea.

Boring or what !!!

Amiga Disk Recovery - The Video.

The processes

01 Amiga 1200 - disk broken
02 External Drives - disk broken
03 Clean Drives - Wait for file structure to show
04 Attempt to copy to RAM
05 Slow process building a copy of the disk
06 All the zeroes show failed attempts
07 Eventually successful and copied to RAM
08 Made copy of contents to Empty disk
09 Created LHA and ADF files and stored
10 Successfully created fresh disk
11 Bonus - The original disk now works.

Sorry for some of the blurred images.
I wasn't able to redo the video as it was
reliant on the disk being busted. But I
mended it. You get the idea.

The trick is to keep rotating the disk in the
drives till one kicks in and shows the disk
structure and then just keep copying to RAM
until you successfully have all the contents.
Failed copies show as zeroes. Generally after
a time the disk just seems to mend itself.

Incredible.
