I can recall the joy the day I finally got my edition of SCALA complete with the dongle, some 18 years to the day. Seems like yesterday. For those that don't know SCALA is a software program that lets you connect pretty much any multimedia device to the Amiga. The dongle is a physical pass through plugged into the Amiga that provides full on copy protection. I have various boxed copies of the software together with numerous updates. The dongle I have is the red one for the MM200. Evidently the green version is for MM400 though I have conflicting information that suggests its actually MM300. Surprisingly WinUAE will emulate the dongle Host>IO Ports> Protection Dongle and then the colour ( check out guide for full wording ) The CU Amiga free software avoids the dongle or disables it. See the links below for the magazine articles. Reading various reports in the day it was most annoying to users who acquired the software second hand obtaining versions without the dongle. I was very keen to buy one with the dongle and it took me a while. SCALA is Norwegian for ladder by the way hence the ladder on the box and my cryptic climbing the ladder comment. In truth you should already know that, if you are an Amiga enthusiast. I mean who has an Amiga and doesn't have a copy of SCALA. The Amiga was your multi- media computer of the day.
