Amstrad battery removal - Plus computer run around.
Finally got round to removing the dead batteries from the Amstrad
1512. These are the best located batteries of any machine tucked
into a small recess just below the monitor away from the computer
motherboard. I could have replaced them but it is not worth it
just to retain the date. The computer has a hard drive onboard
and is still working after decades of use. Desktop is GEM.
Whilst I was at it I switched on eight of my machines to make sure
the various belts and drives were working. You will have to excuse
the photography as it was done without a tripod and no proper
lighting. All the same it showed all the machines to be working.
The machines in order were, Amstrad 1512 HD20, Amiga 500 3.0 ROM
and ViperCD accelerator, original Checkmate 1500 with MagaChip,
Amstrad PCW9512, Amstrad CPC6128, Acorn RISC OS A7000, Amstrad
PCW8256, Amiga 1500. And they all were working just fine.
Everything is powered down now and the dust covers replaced. Always
reassuring when they boot up.
Happy days.
