Entry 31st March 2026: Post 2: Apricot Xi - Avoiding the hoover.
Apricot Xi - Avoiding the hoover.
I have purchased a new Hoover and this time is it an actual Hoover.
And before I start today I can reassure you I am not going to do
a blog on the Hoover.
Anyroadup .. At the top of those stairs I discussed the other day
in respect of Lotus ( which is incorrectly labelled on the Samsung
blog ... You could have said ) there sits a black monitor for the
Apricot Xi. It is a heavy brute and looks like it was damaged from
maybe chucking in a skip. I needed to shift it to make way for the
new Hoover and so it found its way onto the bench. Suffice to say
one thing lead to another and soon I had the computer hooked up
and giving it a run through. She worked fine, just needed the 3.5"
floppies which sadly are out of reach on top of a wardrobe.
I was well impressed that all the lights flashed on the keyboard
and the machine went into its boot sequence. Last time it took a
very long time to boot into the hard drive .. Feb 2018 to May 2020.
Anyhoo I gave her a bit of a dust and checked cables and such and
replaced the dust covers. I Hoovered the carpet and returned her
to her given location. For a portable this computer is a touch
heavy.
