Entry 3rd May 2018: Post: 1

I came in search of a black monitor.. PS/2, Apricot, Compaq, 1084S

Ok this a pretty typical day in the life my retro world. I have
started a little series on the luggable computer and yesterday
featured the Osborne. Today it was the turn of the IBM PS/2. Thing
was that I knew I had an old IBM behind the large table in the
store. I was dreading trying to dig it out cus this is an old office
desk and has a vertical rear panel. Which meant I not only needed
to clear everything from top of the desk but also in front. Took
me most of the morning. See the first picture which is the right
side of my long thin store area. To the left is stacked to the
ceiling with plastic tubs. Tricky space this.

Anyway, I found the second of my IBMs and also an Apricot portable.
Checking my pictures on the site I could see that it came with a
small monitor, the Apricot that is. So time to find that. Stacked
the very top of some monitors was a black monitor but it was for
the Sinclair Professional computer... Scratches head. Why was this
here, I thought I had this stored bottom of a set of shelves.

OK so I then moved to another area and I was soon digging out a
black monitor to the base of the shelves. Turned out to be a
CDTV 1084S monitor.. see next post.

Eventually I opened the store cupboard and found the Apricot monitor
on top of a stack of magazines. No idea if it works.

Behind the table I also found a Compaq desktop that I think is broken
I will check. The C64 Terminator boxed set is now in the left hand
storage area. I also found the power supply to the Yamaha MSX.
I have learnt my lesson today not to put things behind desks. Not only
did I have to disconnect and move computers I had to check afterwards
that they were all working again.

All back tidy so onwards.

Cuppa tea.
