Entry 22nd November 2019: Post 01: Amiga Disks - Working Disk Sets.

Amiga Disks - Working Disk Sets.

I am in the thick of sorting a problem out that I have had for
some little time now. I have over 13000 Amiga disks and I did
collate and list them out back in 2017. Since then I have gathered
more disks and extracted numerous disks and placed them local to
various computers. Also I have created any number of disks and
these also are scattered around the place.

I got a little perplexed the other day trying to find those Utopia
disks and I finally said enough was enough. So I gathered all the
disk boxes and scattered disks together and set too putting them
in disk boxes and numbering and recording in a fresh list. The
aim will be too update the original list. I can then add these to
the library of disk boxes I already have catalogued. Should then
prove easy again for me to find all disks. Well that's the theory.

This is going to take me some time. It isn't the volume of disks
that is the issue it is the editing of the original list and
creating a new up to date list. I should actually create a data
file of the whole lists but in truth a simple search of a basic
notepad document is just as easy and quick to use. It also takes
a lot less time to compose.

I am well on the way to getting the disks recorded and should
complete the task in a couple of days. What is left then is the
tricky part so I will be away from photographing stuff for the
next week I should think.

Below are some images of the boxes and disks I gathered from
around the place. Thing is when I undertake projects I very often
create sets of disks that are needed and maybe pull disks from
the collection. I am always finding disks and also as of now I
am expecting games in the post and so will need to add those also.

All good fun.
