ScuzzBlog: Diaries November 2020 Entry 29th November 2020: Post 1: Amiga PSU - Just went pop. Amiga PSU - Just went pop. So I'm switching on an A1200 from a lightweight A500 PSU and it decides to go pop. My immediate concerns were for the A1200 but she seems fine. I've given her the rest of the day off. To the bench and I opened the PSU which is not the heavier brick. From the top she looked OK and both the plug fuse and internal fuse were fine. It wasn't till I turned the board over that I could clearly see the burn marks from two resistors above that on closer inspection had gone pop. The front leg from the one had snapped and come away from the board. That is the second unit to have failed in the same way. Never mind. I don't have a shortage of replacement PSUs so I just grabbed another and she was back up and running in no time. Amiga PSU - Just went pop.
