ScuzzBlog: Diaries October 2026 Entry 7th October 2026: Post 1: A new A1200 - My thoughts. A new A1200 - My thoughts. I saw some images inside the new A1200 this week. No comment. OK What would me sit up and take note... quite simple really. Just put the magic back into the platform and give us something better than a glorified emulator. 01: A motherboard that fills the box with wonderful connectors to all those modern gadgets I hear so much of. But why not add a bit of colour and artwork to the motherboard. Maybe make it an odd shape. Option B: A motherboard that can handle the older kit. 02: There should be some respect of the original systems with homage to CPU, ROM and custom chips. Not sure how that is done and maybe symbolic but if this is an Amiga it needs to show its family links. Option B: Let me use my original motherboard. 03: Ports with USB connectors that let you connect old fashioned port connectors. Option B: Traditional port arrays. 04: Options for a real floppy drive and external floppy drive. 05: A trapdoor connector that takes old style accelerators. In truth I would like a new case for my old kit I guess. Though a next gen motherboard would be great. But not an emulator. Also a snazzy new box with magic artwork and new DPaint version from Electronic Arts. Plus an Amiga version of Hitman and Stellar Blade. Anyhoo ... will I be buying a new A1200. Not likely as I only collect real Amigas. 'give me love not a facsimile of' A new A1200 - My thoughts.
