HP PC - Crappy computer part II.
If you read my blog from a few days ago you will be aware That I
have been struggling with a failed Windows 11 machine that refuses
to go online. I have tried every suggested repair from searches on
the web and followed any number of videos. One last suggestion by
Google was to buy a USB Wi-Fi adapter to try and by pass the
systems on the computer for current Ethernet and Wi-Fi. I have to
say I wasn't hopeful, but none the same I bought an adapter and
today I gave it a whirl.
The adapter is very small I have to say and with two large leaflet
style documents I had settled down to a good read. However all the
guide says is plug the thing in, install the driver and connect to
the hub.
The process took very little time and I was soon negotiating to
the Wi Fi 6 connection. I tried the normal first with no luck
and then moved onto the new adapter. I was not surprised when it
did not work. Just the same as the other. Sadly the Ethernet was
also not working.
It astonishes me that a modern computer can fail so badly. The
devices manager shows Ethernet and both Wi Fi as working. The
network troubleshooter shows me connected but fails to resolve
the problem. Every connection I try to software or website fails.
The computer is dead in the water without internet.
So I pulled the device and switched the thing off. Well not just
yet , I used it to charge my ten quid mobile phone from Tesco.
Amazing , a thousand quid phone charger. Mad I know.
Never mind, I haven't decided yet what to do.
